Comfort & Dental Technology in Avondale & Logan Square, IL

Your comfort is our highest priority, which is why we are proud to offer the latest advances in dental technology in our brand new, custom designed office. From the moment you step through the door, you will feel good knowing that you are working with an experienced, knowledgeable team.

3D DENTAL IMAGING

3D DENTAL IMAGING

Our office is proud to be equipped with the latest Ultra Low Dose 3D X-ray technology, called a dental Cone Beam CT scanner. This cone beam dental instrument allows our team to visualize most bony structures in the face, jaw, and throat, from every angle. This highly detailed information helps us design the most appropriate treatment that caters to you.

3D dental imaging can be much more helpful compared to traditional 2D dental x-rays. For example, 3D images can improve the precision of dental implant placement, which optimizes your long-term results from the treatment. These images are also important to ensure that the right treatment recommendations are offered based on your unique needs.

ANESTHESIA & SEDATION DENTISTRY

ANESTHESIA & SEDATION DENTISTRY
Relax! Sedation can help reduce anxiety and minimize pain associated with surgery. Arbor View Oral & Facial Surgery provides many types and levels of sedation:

  • Nitrous oxide, also called laughing gas, is a simple and safe form of sedation and anxiety control. Calmly breathe your way through your surgery!
  • Oral sedation (pill) is a moderate form of sedation ideal for patients who may not be a candidate for more profound sedation in the office. Often, oral sedation dentistry is done along with nitrous oxide.
  • IV sedation (Intravenous) provides the deepest level of sedation and works quickly. IV sedation dentistry puts the patient completely to sleep. Once asleep, our patients rest comfortably while being constantly monitored by a fully trained and equipped surgical team.

DENTAL PAIN MANAGEMENT

DENTAL PAIN MANAGEMENT
Recovery after oral surgery can be uncomfortable. Patients often use a combination of pain medications and cold packs to manage swelling and pain levels. During the first few days after your surgery, we recommend that you stay consistent with the use of medication to stay ahead of the pain levels. Then, you can reduce the use of medication as you progress in recovery.

Arbor View Oral & Facial Surgery is proud to recommend opioid-free anesthesia and pain medication for all patients. Of course, we have many options to offer our patients should there be unique circumstances. Our patients who chose opioid free anesthesia report excellent pain management results while maintaining a clear mind and body after their procedure.

Jason Schrotenboer DDS MD
/ SKROH-ten-BOR /

We call him Dr. Jason, who was raised in the Holland area of Michigan — voted one of the happiest places in the U.S. (Maybe it’s the tulips, maybe the micro-breweries?)

Now, a transplant to Chicago, he’s in his happy place when he’s working with patients. His early experience as an oral surgery patient guided his future career path with his then surgeon-turned-mentor (a Northwestern trained surgeon, in fact!).

Today, that experience has groomed his practice and patient interactions. “Being a surgical patient has given me an advantageous perspective on being a surgeon. There’s so much more to providing care than textbook learning and technical training.” This early experience combined with his broad range of training, works to make your care more seamless and stress-free. Referring doctors and patients alike trust his reassuring demeanor and broad-scope training for treating conditions of the mouth, jaw, face and neck.

You come out learning a lot about collaborating with all sides. That combined with Dr. Jason’s early patient perspective gives him a unique 360° view of oral surgery. Together with you, your dentist, surgeon and other medical specialists, we’ll help design the best approach for your care.
